Meeting Goals

To effectively and rapidly communicate with your Client, Chief Engineer and Project Engineer.
Topics include:
  • Project progress since last meeting
  • Accomplishments of team
  • Challenges encountered and plan to move past them

Tips and Tricks

  • TAKE NOTES
  • Use numbered list for easier reference during discussion - objectives, questions, etc...
  • Label figures, use annotations to highlight what's important in images and graphs.
  • Build on prior work team has done.
    • Copy (and update) Project Overview slides from Client Meeting #2 or #3.
      • If there are NO CHANGES, move these slides to Appendix in case new client participants attend the meeting and need this information.
    • Project Status rows are the Deliverables from the EDN Gantt chart. No more / no less!
    • Pull slide content on System Architecture, Technical Progress, Test Plan, Accomplishments, etc. from forum posts, design artifacts, and System Design Report in Repository.
  • Be sure to include supporting evidence for all your engineering decisions! Otherwise they are only opinions.
  • Proofread and spell check slides.
  • Take notes (We know we repeated this. It's important).
  • The team member who did the work should create and narrate the slide(s) showing their results.
  • Review tips for Creating Strong PowerPoint Presentations.
  • Be mindful of Design Lab's Generative AI policy.
  • Be mindful of Design Lab's Late Policy.
